Over 20 years ago, whilst working in a bookie, I decided to follow a horse called ‘Gatwick’ on the basis that he was owned by Sir Alex Ferguson. This was off the back of his success with Rock Of Gibraltar.
I (naively) thought that this horse might be very good on that basis. He turned out to be pretty good, but what happened after his handicap debut would completely change how I looked at horse racing.
Gatwick was beaten in that race, but I soon noticed that all the other horses that ran well in that race (including Gatwick) were winning next time out.
I wondered if this would happen in other races – and it did. I didn’t know it at the time, but I’d stumbled across what is more commonly known as ‘Hot Form’.
I realised that if I found these hot form races early enough, and studied other important aspects of horse racing, that I could fill my tracker with several hundred future winners each season.

Whilst some tipsters try to blind you with unrealistic profit figures (I’ve seen up to £100 per point mentioned!), you’ll often see the same tipster completely fail to show any of their past bets, or their return on investment.
The ROI is the crucial number you need to judge a tipster. This is telling you how much profit you are making, relative to how much you are staking. Or to put it another way, how much profit relative to how much risk you are taking.
I’m so confident in my results, and transparent about them, that at the end of each month, members receive a full breakdown of stakes, returns, profit (or loss) and the monthly ROI. I also review the whole month, going through what went well, what didn’t, and what’s coming up next month.
I believe that good communication is crucial in giving member’s a great value service. It’s not just about tipping lots of winners (even if that helps). All tips come with a detailed write up which presents the full form case for the selection, how the race should develop, what the worries are (if any) and which runners represent the main dangers. All tips are the product of lengthy form study. There is no so called ‘info’, In fact, nearly every ‘info’ tipster out there is just tipping market movers and claiming they are in the know. This is not the way to profit from horse racing.

I'll never tip for the sake of it, and I'm a strong believer in 'the more you choose, the more you lose'. Tips are more frequent in the summer, but on average there are around 6 tips per week.
One of my pet hates is tipsters trying to lure people in with 'info'. Even if genuine, there will usually be 'info' for several other runners in the race too, rendering it pointless! The form book is where the pros find their bets.
